Database Engineer located in Linthicum, MD

The DCGS-A program is developing a Service Oriented Architecture bringing together over 15 Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL Server and MySQL databases running on Linux and Windows.  DCGS-A needs talented, experienced database engineers who can take and idea and run with it, and see it all the way through to completion.  Our database engineers support the following activities:

• Support data integration efforts
• Develop security hardening, auditing, and maintenance scripts
• Develop design artifacts such as data flow diagrams, ERDs, sequence diagrams, and requirements
• Analyze performance at the OS, database, and SQL level, including trace file analysis
• Build and administer development, test, and integration database in labs
• Assist application developers with database problems
• Upgrade and apply patches to databases
• Minimum of 6 years of experience developing, administering and troubleshooting Oracle or MS SQL Server databases
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Oracle in a Linux or Unix environment, including shell scriting and analysis of CPU, memory, and disk bottlenecks
